Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

All the people will hate you because of my name. But he who endures to the end will be saved (Matt. 10:22).

Christians must be disciplined if we want to endure to finish our preaching work (Matt. 28:19, 20). Human beings are not disciplined by nature. On the contrary, we tend to follow the law of least effort. To be disciplined you need self-control. So if we want to be able to do the things that are difficult for us to do, we need help. And Jehovah gives us that help through his holy spirit (Gal. 5:22, 23). The apostle Paul was a disciplined person, but he admitted that he had to “beat” his body to do what was right (1 Cor. 9:25-27). He commanded Christians to be disciplined and to do “everything in a worthy and orderly manner” (1 Cor. 14:40). This is what is needed to maintain a good program of spiritual activities that includes regular participation in the preaching work (Acts 2:46).w20.09 6 paras. 15-17

Why should we fishers of men be brave?

To be a fisherman, you have to be brave, because the sea is unpredictable, you often have to work at night and suddenly storms can form. We fishers of men must also be brave. When we begin to preach and identify ourselves as Jehovah's Witnesses, “storms” may come, such as opposition from our relatives, ridicule from our friends, and people's rejection of our message. But none of this surprises us, because Jesus warned that he would send his followers into the midst of hostile people (Matt. 10:16).

According to Joshua 1:7-9, what will help us to be courageous?

What will help you be brave? First, rest assured that Jesus continues to direct this work from heaven (John 16:33; Rev. 14:14-16). Then strengthen his faith that Jehovah will keep his promise to care for him (Matt. 6:32-34). The stronger his faith, the braver he will be. Peter and the others showed great faith when they left their business to follow Jesus. You also showed it when you told your friends and family that you had started studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses and attending their meetings. And surely he has made important changes in the way he lives and acts to respect Jehovah's righteous standards. This also showed that he has faith and courage. If you continue to strive to be courageous, you can trust that Jehovah will be with you wherever you go (read Joshua 1:7-9).
