Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

Let Satan not take advantage of us (2 Cor. 2:11).
Whether we have been serving Jehovah for a short time or a long time, we should ask ourselves: “Am I fighting against Satan's attempts to divide my heart?” For example, what do we do if we see an image or movie on television or on the Internet that might arouse immoral desires in us? It would be easy to justify ourselves thinking that, strictly speaking, it is not pornography. But could Satan be using it to divide our hearts? This can be compared to the wedge someone uses to split a piece of wood. Maybe start by driving the thin edge of the wedge into the wood. And, as he sinks it, the wood splits. Provocative images can be like the thin edge of the wedge. At first they may seem like something small and harmless, but they can quickly divide our hearts and lead us to commit sins that break our integrity. For this reason, let us not allow anything inappropriate to enter our hearts. Let us make sure that it is always united and fears the name of Jehovah. w20.06 11, 12 paras. 14, 15.
According to Deuteronomy 32:2, 3, what does Jehovah want us to do with his name?
Just before the Israelites entered the Promised Land, Jehovah taught Moses the words of a song and commanded him to teach it to the people (Deut. 31:19). As we ponder some of the lyrics, we see clearly that Jehovah does not want us to hide his name or treat it as too sacred to pronounce (read Deuteronomy 32:2, 3). You want the whole world to know about it. Without a doubt, it was a great honor for the Israelites that Moses taught them about Jehovah and his glorious name. What they learned had a refreshing and strengthening effect on them, like a gentle rain on vegetation. How can we make sure that our way of teaching has the same effect on others?
How do we help keep Jehovah's name holy?
When we preach from house to house or in public places, let us use the Bible to teach people the name of God. We can use tools that honor Jehovah, such as our valuable publications, excellent videos, and our website. Whether we are at work, school, or on the road, let us look for opportunities to talk about our dear God and his personality. Let's talk about its wonderful purpose for us and for the Earth. When people hear these things, they may realize for the first time how much Jehovah loves us. Whenever we teach the truth about our loving Father, we help to sanctify his name and debunk some of the slanders that have been taught about him. Nothing has such a refreshing effect on people as the biblical message we bring to them (Is. 65:13, 14).
