DAILY TEXT, Today's Friday March 25, 2022

Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

Friday March 25, 2022

Peter remembered what Jesus had said to him, and he went outside and wept bitterly (Matt. 26:75).

What helped the apostle Peter to recover? He remembered that Jesus had told him that he had prayed that his faith would not waver. Jehovah answered that heartfelt prayer. Later, Jesus appeared to him, most likely to encourage him (Luke 22:32; 24:33, 34; 1 Cor. 15:5). On another occasion, Jesus appeared to the apostles after they had been fishing all night without catching anything. There, Jesus gave Peter the opportunity to confirm his love for him and showed his dear friend that he had forgiven him by giving him more work (John 21:15-17). The way Jesus treated Peter shows that he was very compassionate, just like his Father. So when we make a mistake, let us not think that Jehovah will never forgive us. Let's not forget that Satan wants us to think that. Rather, let us try to see ourselves and those who offend us with the same love and compassion with which our heavenly Father sees us (Ps. 103:13, 14). w20.12 20, 21 pars. 17-19

How did Jehovah show love to the poor?

Jehovah had given the Israelites a law that reflected his compassion for the poor like Naomi and Ruth. He commanded his people that, when they harvested the land, they would not completely harvest the edges of the field so that the poor could glean (Lev. 19:9, 10). So Naomi and Ruth could get their food without having to beg.

What did Boaz do to make Naomi and Ruth happy?

The owner of the field where Ruth worked was a rich man named Boaz. He was so moved by Ruth's loyalty and love for her mother-in-law, Naomi, that she bought back her family's inheritance and married Ruth (Ruth 4:9-13). Later, they had a son named Obed, who was the grandfather of King David (Ruth 4:17).

Imagine Naomi with Obed in her arms, beaming with happiness and thanking Jehovah from the bottom of her heart. But the best is yet to come for Naomi and Ruth. When they are resurrected, they will learn that Obed was the ancestor of the promised Messiah, Jesus Christ.

What valuable lessons can we learn from the account of Naomi and Ruth?

What do we learn? Going through a trial, we may become discouraged or even heartbroken. We may not see the output. In those moments, let us trust completely in our heavenly Father and let us not distance ourselves from our brothers. We know that Jehovah will not always take the test away from us, just as he did not give Naomi back her husband and her children. But what he will always do is help us endure, perhaps through the displays of loyal love from our brothers (Prov. 17:17).
