Have courage! You will also have to bear witness in Rome (Acts 23:11).
Jesus assured the apostle Paul that he would arrive in Rome. But some Jews from Jerusalem planned an ambush to kill him. When the Roman military commander Claudius Lysias learned of the plan, he came to his aid. He immediately sent Paul escorted by many soldiers to Caesarea. There, Governor Felix "ordered him to be guarded in Herod's palace." In this way, Paul was safe from those who wanted to kill him (Acts 23: 12-35). But Felix was replaced in the post of governor by Festus, who wanted to be good with the Jews and so he asked Paul: "Do you want to go up to Jerusalem and be judged there before me for these things?" The apostle knew that if he went to Jerusalem, he would probably be killed. So he said, "I appeal to Caesar!" Festus replied: "You have appealed to Caesar and to Caesar you will go."Going to Rome put Paul out of the reach of his enemies (Acts 25: 6-12). w20.11 13 par. 4; 14 paras. 8-10
How did Jehovah use Aristarchus and Luke to help Paul?
What help did Pablo receive? During his trip to Rome, Jehovah helped Paul on many occasions through his brothers. Let's look at some examples.
Aristarchus and Luke, two loyal friends of Paul, decided to accompany him to Rome. * They were willing to risk their lives to be with Paul, although the Bible does not say that either of them had personally received the promise from Jesus that they would arrive in Rome. It was later, in the middle of the storm, when they learned that they would be saved. So when Aristarchus and Luke boarded the ship at Caesarea, Paul surely prayed from his heart to Jehovah to thank him for using these two mighty Christians to help him. --Acts 27: 1, 2, 20-25.
How did Jehovah help Paul through the brothers?
During his trip, Pablo received the help of his brothers on several occasions. For example, in the port city of Sidon, Julio "allowed him to go visit his friends and have them take care of him." And later, in the city of Puteoli, Pablo and his companions met some brothers, who begged them to stay with them for seven days. As these Christians tended to the travelers, they were sure to be overjoyed by the encouraging experiences Paul shared with them (compare Acts 15: 2, 3). After such an empowering visit, Paul and his companions continued their journey (Acts 27: 3; 28:13, 14).
