Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

The glory of the young is in their strength (Prov. 20:29).
Youngsters, you have a lot to offer. Many of you are strong and full of energy. They are a great help to the congregation. Surely many want to be appointed as ministerial servants. But some may feel that others see them as too young or inexperienced to take on important tasks. Is that your case? Even if you are young, there are things you can do now to earn the trust and respect of the brothers in your congregation. Many young men have skills that can help others in the congregation. For example, some older siblings appreciate being taught to use a tablet or other electronic devices for personal study and meetings. Your skill with these devices can be of great help to them. In everything, strive to make your heavenly Father proud of you. w21.03 2 paras. 1, 3; 7 para. 18.
What helped David to wait patiently until he began to rule? (b) What can young men learn from David's example?
Let's look at another difficult situation David faced. After being anointed to be king, he had to wait many years before he began to rule (1 Sam. 16:13; 2 Sam. 2:3, 4). What helped him to wait patiently? Instead of sitting idly by in despair, he focused on what he could do. For example, while living as a fugitive in Philistine territory, he took the opportunity to fight Israel's enemies. Thus he protected the boundaries of Judah's territory (1 Sam. 27:1-12).
What can you learn from David's example? That you should take advantage of the opportunities that come your way to serve Jehovah and your brothers. Consider the case of a brother named Ricardo.* As a teenager, he already dreamed of becoming a regular pioneer, but he was not yet ready. Instead of giving up or becoming bitter, he dedicated more time to the ministry. He says: “Now I realize that it did me good to have time to progress. I concentrated on attending to any interested people I could find and preparing myself well to make return visits. I even started my first Bible course. The more I preached, the less nervous I got.” Today Ricardo is a ministerial servant and an excellent regular pioneer.
What did David do on a certain occasion when he had to make an important decision?
Let's look at another situation David had to face. Once, while he and his men were hiding from Saul, they left their families to go into battle. Meanwhile, enemies attacked their houses and took their families. David may have thought that being an experienced warrior he could devise an effective plan to rescue them. But instead, he sought Jehovah's guidance. With the help of a priest named Abiathar, he asked, "Am I going after this band of looters?" Jehovah answered yes and assured him that he would succeed (1 Sam. 30:7-10). What can you learn from this?
