Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

It is clear that it was not worth keeping my heart pure or washing my hands in innocence (Ps. 73:13).

The Levite who wrote Psalm 73 began to envy the wicked and arrogant. Not that he wanted to do the bad things they did, but he was drawn to the good life they seemed to lead (Ps. 73: 2-9, 11-14). They seemed to have it all: riches, pleasures, and zero worries. But when he began to see things from Jehovah's point of view, he regained inner peace and happiness. Addressing Jehovah, he said: "On earth, apart from you, I desire nothing" (Ps. 73:25). This teaches us that we should not envy the good life that the wicked seem to lead. Their happiness is superficial and will not last, for they will not live forever (Eccl. 8:12, 13). To envy them would open the door to discouragement and would put us in spiritual danger. So if we ever feel like the Levite, let's do what he did:Let us listen to the counsels of our loving God and spend time with those who serve him. If Jehovah is our greatest joy, we will be truly happy and continue on the path that leads to “the life that really is life” (1 Tim. 6:19). w20.12 19-20 pars. 14-16

According to Psalm 103: 13, 14, what does Jehovah think of our sins, and how can we imitate him?

What do we learn? The way Jesus treated Peter shows that he was very compassionate, just like his Father. So when we make a mistake, let us not think that Jehovah will never forgive us. Let's not forget that Satan wants us to think that. Rather, let us try to view ourselves and those who offend us with the same love and compassion with which our heavenly Father views us (read Psalm 103: 13, 14).

What will we see in the next article?

The stories of Joseph, Naomi and Ruth, the Levite and Peter confirm to us that “Jehovah is close to those who are broken in heart” (Ps. 34:18). Sure, he doesn't always keep us from going through trials or feeling discouraged. But when we endure with his help, our faith grows stronger (1 Pet. 1: 6, 7). In the following article, we will look at other ways in which Jehovah helps his loyalists when they are discouraged, perhaps because of their imperfections or other difficult circumstances.
