APLPLY YOUR SELFTO THE FIELD MINISTRY: January 24-30, 2022. Revisit lesson .9 assignment prepared.

Revisit (4 mins): Use the ideas to talk. Then show the video Why Study the Bible?, but don't play it (th lec. 9).

PUBLISHER: Good afternoon Juan. How do you feel?

HOUSEWIFE: Good afternoon Alberto. Well, I was waiting to connect and talk to you again. How are you?

PUBLISHER: Great Juan, I was also waiting for it to be time to speak again. My family is fine and so am I, thanks for asking.

HOUSEWIFE: Well, I'm glad. Today you were going to tell me how God helps us to face our problems, right?

PUBLISHER: That's right Juan. And as we have done in previous conversations, we are going to see it directly from the Bible. But first, I want you to reflect on the following approach…

HOUSEWIFE: Ok, tell me…

PUBLISHER: We all have problems, we who live in a more or less developed society still have many problems, right? Like some health, some economic…

HOUSEWIFE: Yes, it is. And depending on the moment that catches us, they will be of one kind or another...

PUBLISHER: True it is. If we have problems, can we imagine the problems that people who live in more backward countries, such as certain areas of Africa, have?

HOUSEWIFE: If you put it in retrospect... the problems we have are not at all comparable to what those people suffer...

PUBLISHER: Sometimes we may have problems making ends meet... or that we arrive very tight... but there are people who don't do it, or who don't have a house or anything to eat every day...

HOUSEWIFE: If you think about it that way, the truth is that sometimes we complain for the sake of complaining... we are much better off than other people...

PUBLISHER: Reflecting like this, it makes us see that really many of what we consider problems, many of them do not have the importance that we give them...

HOUSEWIFE: You're right, sometimes we give importance to problems that are really nonsense...

PUBLISHER: Nonsense compared to the problems other people have...

HOUSEWIFE: Yes, you're absolutely right.

PUBLISHER: Well, with this reflection and approach, we are prepared to read the biblical text of Jeremiah 29:11... would you like to read it? I share this text with you on the screen...

HOUSEWIFE: It says… “Because I know very well what I have in mind for you,” declares Jehovah. I want them to have peace, not calamity. I want to give them a future and hope.”

PUBLISHER: Jehovah, that is, God, is very clear about what he wants for us, his earthly children...

HOUSEWIFE: He says he wants us to have peace and not calamity. She wants to give us a better future and hope.

PUBLISHER: The Bible gives us the hope of living a better future in peace where there will be no calamities. That is, there will be no: violence, wars, diseases, death, etc.

HOUSEWIFE: It would be very nice to see this…

PUBLISHER: All these promises that the Bible makes us help us face the problems we have today, because as we said before, it makes us reflect and focus our eyes on a better future... work to achieve that better future... so the problems that we have today go into the background...

HOUSEWIFE: Of course, we don't give the importance to these problems that we do now because we are focused on achieving what will come...

PUBLISHER: Exactly, like the example above… the Bible helps us focus our eyes on what really matters… and this makes certain problems not given more importance than they should be… and this in turn…

HOUSEWIFE: It helps us cope… yes, I understand…

PUBLISHER: That's right Juan. But not only that, the Bible not only gives us a hope to fight for and live simple lives today that avoid many problems, but it is the best self-help book that can exist...

HOUSEWIFE: Does the Bible give us advice to deal with today's problems even though it was written so long ago?

PUBLISHER: Yes, and very useful advice that if we really follow it we will avoid or overcome many of our problems... there is no human book that is as useful, practical and truthful as the Bible... but of course... to know all this it is important to study the Bible why? Let me show you this short video… (…we put video…) What do you think?

HOUSEWIFE: Yes, it is true that knowing the answers to many questions we have gives us a lot of peace of mind.

PUBLISHER: It opens our eyes Juan, it makes us see life in a different way and that we focus on what is most important... do you think that the next conversation we have, which could be the following week on the same day... let's see how does the Bible to guide our lives?

HOUSEWIFE: Yes, it sounds interesting Alberto, I'll be waiting for you... can you let me know first on WhatsApp?

PUBLISHER: Yes Juan, see you next week.
