APLPLY YOUR SELFTO THE FIELD MINISTRY: January 24-30, 2022, Speech, Lesson 20, Prepared Assignment.
Speech (5 mins.): ia 43, 44 pars. 5-9. Title: What is a family? (th lec. 20).
The concept of family can be defined as that group of people who are relatives to each other. When we think of a family, traditionally we can think of parents and children and grandparents. And after this we go to more distant relatives.
While it is true that this may be the traditional definition of what we consider and think a family is, the Bible shows us that it does not necessarily have to be this way, or this extensive. But it can be made up of two people, like Ruth and Naomi, and in this case, between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.
In fact, a family is one that shows true loyal love and is always there to help and support. Whether it is made up of people by blood, affinity, adoption or many other reasons. We surround ourselves with those we consider family.
For example, we have chosen God's people as our spiritual family. They are all our spiritual brothers, we do not share blood, but we share the same beliefs and we are always willing to help them in everything they need and support them. In this way we are demonstrating true loyal love to our spiritual family and reaping great blessings as we are going to read, if you will accompany me, in Mark 10:29,30:
“Jesus said to them: “I assure you that there is no one who has left home, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children or fields for me and for the good news that I do not receive now, in this time, 100 times more —houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields, albeit with persecutions—and, in the system to come, eternal life.”
In fact, Ruth did very well working for a kind man provided by Jehovah like Boaz, for whom she worked in his fields obtaining plenty of food for her and Naomi, and working in a harmonious environment with other young women by staying away from landowners With bad intentions. This family, Ruth and Naomi saw these great blessings of Mark 10:29,30 just as the people of God see them when they help each other and take refuge in the spiritual family that we have in our congregations.
We have a wide spiritual family all over the world. Beyond our closest and most intimate circle of people we consider as our family. Whenever we need it, we can count on a much larger family, and like Boaz, Jehovah has placed at our disposal, and is his beloved spiritual people.
We are part of this family, and as such, we must and it is in our hearts to always help and support our brothers, this is what drives us the loyal love we feel for them. A disinterested and sincere help just as we help a beloved father or mother, a blood brother, a grandfather or grandmother... in the same way, we help our spiritual brother, because he is part of our other world family.
While we are ready to help them, we are being watched by Jehovah, who is extremely pleased with our efforts and writes in his eternal memory the sincere good gestures that we have to help each other. This is how it is recorded in Proverbs 19:17 that we are going to read:
“Whoever shows compassion to the needy makes a loan to Jehovah, and he will reward him for it.”
And we are not only talking about eternal life, but about many other blessings that we can see in our day to day life. As in the case of Ruth and Naomi, no matter how small our most intimate family may be, loyal love will always reign between us. Or as Jesus said, those without family will find it in the Christian congregation.
Ruth and Naomi, as we read in Mark 10:29,30, received much more than they had. These same blessings are enjoyed by faithful servants of God in our lives, until the last part of the promise of Mark 10:30, which is eternal life, arrives.
The family, brothers and sisters, is a valuable treasure that Jehovah has given us and for which we must fight and show each other loyal love. They are people who will always be by our side when we need it... and in this system of Satan we need this love in large doses. Let's take care of our family, both the closest and our spiritual family. Not only will we have great blessings and take care of each other, but this loyal love leads to eternal life.
