APLPLY YOUR SELFTO THE FIELD MINISTRY: November 29 - December 5, 2021, Speech, Lesson 14, Assignment Prepared.

Talk (5 min.): W06 3/1 28-29 Title: What does it mean to “keep women quiet in congregations”? (1Co 14:34) (th lec. 14).

If we look at our congregations, it is obvious that our dear sisters are the majority component of them and without a doubt we are very grateful for their valuable support in the work of preaching and making disciples, some support construction work and others volunteered willingly. She wins to serve where there is need, however, there is a piece of advice that applies to our sisters and it is found in 1 Corinthians 14:34 (read), when it says that "women remain silent in the congregations." ? Does that mean that you should never speak in congregation meetings? All of those questions will be answered in this talk.

Let's examine the context, in this chapter of the letter to the Corinthians, Paul analyzed issues about what topics should be discussed in the meetings and the proper way to conduct them and in that analysis he advised three groups of the congregation to keep silent, the first The group that was sent this was to those who translated in the congregations, by this he did not mean that such a person could never speak in the meetings, but there would be times when he should remain silent so as not to cause confusion with a language that no one understood Secondly, Paul gave the same advice to be silent to the prophets who were dealing with spiritual matters, it did not imply that they did not speak in the meetings, but it did mean that on occasions he would have to keep silent.

And the third advice that we know was directed to women, also had a reason, and it was to maintain order in the congregation, we understand this point more when we read 1 Corinthians 14:35 (read), it may be that some sisters refuted what It was said in the congregation that Paul's advice helped them avoid such a rebellious attitude and humbly accept their position according to the principle of authority given by Jehovah, in addition, by keeping silent, the sisters would demonstrate that they did not aspire to be teachers in the congregation .

Does this mean that Christian women should never speak at congregation meetings? The answer is no, in fact, in Paul's time, there were Christian women who, prompted by the holy spirit, prayed or prophesied in the congregation, but showing respect by covering their heads, currently our sisters participate by making a public declaration of their hope in ministry, encourage others during Christian meetings by offering thoughtful comments when invited to do so and by participating in student assignments and demonstrations.

Therefore, Christian women are 'silent' by not attempting to take the place of the male or teach in the congregation, nor do they pose questions in the spirit of polemics, thus challenging the authority of those who teach, if each member of the congregation, already Whether you are male or female, you know what role you play within your congregation, what 1 Corinthians 14:26 says will be achieved (read and emphasize in the last sentence: “Do everything to edify one another”)
