The Study Watchtower, "Article 32," October 18-24, 2021, Rejoice in What We Can Do for Jehovah, Answers.
1. What are many brothers doing to increase their service to Jehovah?
Many are setting goals such as pioneering, serving at Bethel, or assisting in the construction of buildings used to worship Jehovah, and many brothers are striving to be ministerial servants or elders.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Many are looking for ways to expand their ministry. Some, for example, have the goal of pioneering, others want to serve at Bethel or assist in the construction of buildings that are used to worship Jehovah. Others are striving to be ministerial servants or elders. Everyone has a goal and does it willingly.
2. How might we feel if we don't reach some goal?
We could be disappointed. Or even hurt by the fact that due to age or other circumstances we cannot do certain things in Jehovah's organization. That is what happens to Melissa, who would love to serve at Bethel or go to the School for Kingdom Evangelizers, but because of her age she can no longer, that sometimes discourages her.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We may be disappointed. Or due to age and other circumstances, we are no longer able to do some of the things we would like to do in Jehovah's organization. For example Melissa said: I am over the age limit. The way of service is just a dream for me. Meaning that she would love to serve at Bethel or go to school for Kingdom Evangelizers, and she no longer meets the age goal.
3. What might some have to do in order to receive certain responsibilities?
Some, although young and in good health, first have to mature and cultivate certain qualities. They may be smart, determined, and enthusiastic, but they have to learn to be more patient, careful in their work, or respectful. Striving to develop the necessary qualities will make it more likely that they will receive a responsibility when they least expect it.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
They have to mature and cultivate certain skills. Although they may have some innate abilities, they may need to be more patient, at work, and respectful. For example, here he talks about Nick when he was 20 years old he was not appointed a ministerial servant and he thought he was doing something wrong. He did not give up and today he is a member of a Branch Committee.
4. What will we see in this article?
In case our goal is out of reach, we will see 3 things that can help us. First, what can give us joy. Second, what to do to feel more joy. And, third, what goals to set to be more joyful.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We are going to analyze Three points. First, that it can give us joy. Second, what to do to feel more joy. And, third, set goals to be more joyful.
WHAT CAN GIVE US JOY
5. What should we focus on if we want to feel joy? (Ecclesiastes 6: 9).
Ecclesiastes 6: 9 encourages us to focus on what we have, and not on what we have, and not on what is beyond our reach.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We must do what Ecclesiastes says, concentrate on what we see, on what we have and not on our desires that are beyond our reach.
6. What parable will we analyze, and what will we learn?
We will analyze the parable of the talents that Jesus related and that is found in Matthew 25: 14-30. We learn what we can do to have joy and even increase it in our circumstances.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The parable of the talents what Jesus tells that is found in Matthew 25. We learn what we can do to have joy and even increase it according to our circumstances.
WHAT TO DO TO FEEL MORE JOY
7. Briefly tell Jesus' parable of the talents.
It tells of a man who would take a trip. Before leaving, he called his slaves and gave talents to each to do business with. To one he gave five talents, to others, and to another one according to his ability. The first two slaves were diligent and multiplied the money. But the third slave did nothing with the talent, so the master fired him.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
A man distributes talents among his slaves, each of them to do business. A talent is the amount of money a worker earned in 20 years. To one of them he gave five talents, to another he gave two, and to another he gave one according to his ability. The first two got more money for their master. The third did nothing and so the master fired him.
8. Why could the first slave in the parable feel happy?
He could be happy because his master gave him five of his talents. That was a lot of money, and it made clear how much confidence his master had in him.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Because his master had shown him a lot of confidence by giving him five talents, the equivalent of 100 years of work. So without a doubt he was very happy for so much confidence.
9. What did Jesus not say about the second slave? (Matthew 25:22, 23).
Jesus did not say that the second slave was upset and resentful that his master only gave him two talents. Nor did he imply that the slave had said something like, "Is this all they are going to give me?" But I am as skilled as the one who received five talents! If my master does not value me, then I bury these two talents and take care of my affairs.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
He did not mention at any time that this slave felt upset or resentful for only giving him two talents, none of that happened. The second slave with his talents we see that he took his responsibility very seriously as the biblical text said, he said to the woman: look, win two more. That is, he worked hard so that his master had more talents, that is why he was rewarded for his efforts and given more responsibilities, remember that it was a huge amount that was being given to him.
10. What did the second slave do with his talents?
The latter took the responsibility entrusted to him by his master very seriously and worked hard. As a result, he gained another two talents. When he returned, the master rewarded his efforts and entrusted him with more responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
He takes his responsibility very seriously and worked hard for his master, gaining two other talents and for that he was rewarded for his efforts and given more responsibilities.
11. What can we do to feel more joy?
We can strive in any task that is assigned to us or that we can do for example we could dedicate more time to preaching. Prepare well to comment in meetings. Prepare well the student assignments that are given to us. And if they ask us for help to do some work in the congregation, let's be punctual and reliable. The busier we are, the faster we will progress and the more joy we will feel.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We must do our best in whatever task we receive in our service to Jehovah. Whether in preaching, encourage others with our responses in meetings. Take any student assignment very seriously. Be reliable punctual to carry out work in the congregation. We do not want to minimize the tasks that we are asked to perform. The more activities and responsibilities we perform, the faster we will progress and thus we will feel more joy.
ILLUSTRATION:
Series of images: 1. A slave receives two bags of money from his master. 2. The slave negotiates with sellers of good quality cloth. 3. The slave brings his master four bags of money.
What do we learn from the second slave in the parable of the talents? 1) He received two talents from his master. 2) He strove to earn more money for his master. 3) He gained two more talents for his master. (See paragraphs 9-11).
12. What did Melissa and Nick do to feel more joy?
Melissa gives her all in pioneering and tries to participate in all forms of preaching. This has given him great joy. For his part, Nick focused on what he could do: participate in the preaching work and give encouraging comments at the meetings. He filled out the Bethel application, and the following year he was invited.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Melissa says that even though these goals are out of her reach, yet she gives her all in pioneering and tries to participate in all forms of preaching. In Nick's case he said. What focused on what if it could be: Participate in the preaching work and give encouraging comments at the meetings. Then he filled out his Bethel application and was invited the following year.
13. What will happen if we do our best in the responsibilities we have now? (Ecclesiastes 2:24).
We may be given more responsibilities in the future, but if not, in harmony with Ecclesiastes 2:24 we will feel very happy and satisfied with our hard work. In addition, we will feel great joy because we know that our efforts please the master, Jesus Christ.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We will enjoy our hard work as it says here, we will be rewarded from Jehovah, we want to be realistic, we may receive rewards like the ones we want as much as we may not because we may not meet certain requirements. That is why here he uses the maybe if as happened to Nick, but as it happened to Melissa, her circumstances no longer allowed her to obtain privileges, but that we will feel satisfaction, happiness of course, because we are doing the right thing.
GOALS THAT WILL HELP US BE MORE CHEERFUL
14. What should we remember about our service goals?
We must remember that we can and should always set goals that help us to be better preachers and teachers, and that allow us to help our brothers and sisters. We will achieve them if we are wise and modest, and we focus on helping others instead of focusing on ourselves.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
That we want to focus on helping others that is the purpose of having a responsibility, if we strive we can become better preachers, better teachers, help our brothers who need support in the congregation or, as has already been said, with a comment can be done a lot.
15. What are some goals that will make us feel happier?
For example, auxiliary or regular pioneering, Bethel, or construction. We can also learn another language to preach to more people or to move to a place where help is needed. As we strive to reach these goals, we will feel happier and others will see our progress.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We must leave our goals in the hands of Jehovah, ask him to help us to be realistic about what we can do according to our circumstances. In Proverbs 16: 3 it says: leave everything you do in the hands of Jehovah and your plans will go well, that is, Jehovah knows very well what we can do and what if we would obtain it would perhaps be a burden and it would not be the most convenient thing, Jehovah It will never make us have something that causes us pressure or unhappiness. We also want to strive to reach those goals. It can be the auxiliary or regular pioneer, if possible, Bethel or support in the construction. Learn a language other than our own to help people who speak that language and serve where there is need.
16. What can we do if we currently cannot reach a certain goal?
Let's set a reasonable goal that we can meet.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We must continue but always setting a reasonable goal that we can meet and that will not cause disappointment.
17. According to 1 Timothy 4:13, 15, what steps can a brother take to become a better teacher?
It can be applied to public reading, public speaking, teaching. For example, you can study and practice each aspect of speaking that the booklet Let's Be Better Readers and Teachers discusses. Also asking the assistant counselor or other elders for suggestions, concentrating on helping the audience strengthen their faith and apply what they learn.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
In the case of men baptized in the congregation, they have the opportunity to improve their speaking and teaching to help in the congregation. Either through speeches, or perhaps giving practical advice, the suggestion given in this paragraph is to make an effort to study and practice each of the aspects of public speaking discussed in the brochure. Let's be better readers and teachers. Seek suggestions from the assistant congregation counselor. The brother is always aware of our spiritual progress or some other elder who works hard speaking and teaching, that is to say that he is a good teacher giving speeches or perhaps advising others and the goal is to help but not to excel, but to help.

WHAT WOULD YOU ANSWER?
How does the parable of the talents help us rejoice in whatever responsibility we have?
The parable makes us see that whatever responsibility is given to us, we must do our best and work hard. In this way we will be happy to be doing what Jehovah pleases and for the spiritual progress that we are sure to see.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We should rejoice in whatever task we are assigned to serve Jehovah. Either in participating in the Ministry, encouraging our brothers Through the comments in the meetings. Take ourselves seriously in our student assignments. Be reliable and punctual.
