Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2021

The joy of Jehovah is his stronghold (Neh. 8:10).
If we have a new assignment, we can be happy. Let's not think that a change is a failure or a step backwards. Let's try to see how Jehovah is helping us and keep preaching. Let's imitate the faithful first-century Christians who, no matter where they were, “went about the earth declaring the good news of the word” (Acts 8: 1, 4). If we keep preaching, we may get good results. For example, pioneers were expelled from one country and moved to another where there was also a great need for their language. Within a few months, new and rapidly growing groups had formed. Our happiness must depend on our friendship with Jehovah. So let's keep walking with our God, trusting him to give us wisdom, guidance, and support. Let's remember that what made us grow attached to our previous assignment was putting our hearts into helping people. Jehovah will help us feel the same about our new assignment if we also put our hearts into it. --Eccl. 7:10. w19.08 24-25 pars. 15, 16
How do the words of 1 John 2: 15-17 help us lead a simple life?
Lead a simple life. Let us not allow the cares of Satan's world to drown out spiritual activities (Matt. 13:22). Let's not listen to friends, relatives, or others who advise us with good intentions to seek financial security in this world (read 1 John 2: 15-17). Let us trust in Jehovah, who promises to give us “at the proper time” everything we need spiritually, emotionally, and materially. —Heb. 4:16; 13: 5, 6.
According to Proverbs 22: 3, 7, why is it important to avoid unnecessary debt, and what can help us make good decisions?
Avoid unnecessary debt (read Proverbs 22: 3, 7). Moving can be very expensive, and it's easy to get into debt. So let's not buy things we don't need on credit. When going through a situation that causes us emotional stress, such as caring for a sick loved one, it may be difficult for us to decide how much money to borrow. At such times, it is good to remember that turning to Jehovah in “prayer and supplication” can help us make good decisions. He will give us the peace that will protect our minds and hearts, and help us to think things through calmly (Philippians 4: 6, 7; 1 Pet. 5: 7).
What will help us make new friends?
Have a good relationship with friends and family. Let's talk about what we feel and what happens to us with our friends, especially with those who have gone through similar situations. That will make us feel better (Eccl. 4: 9, 10). Although we retain the friends we had in our previous assignment, we need to make new friends. To do this, we must make friends with others. Let us share with them the blessings that Jehovah has given us so that they will see how happy we are to serve him. While some brethren may not understand the enthusiasm we have for full-time service, others may be drawn to our example and become our friends. But let us be careful not to direct too much attention to what we have done and not to focus on negative feelings.
