DAIL TEXT, Today's Monday June 21, 2021

Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2021

God fills them with energy by giving them both the desire and the strength to act (Philippians 2:13).

Jehovah can be whatever it takes to fulfill his purpose. Some of the roles he has played are that of teacher, comforting parent, and evangelizer (Isa. 48:17; 2 Cor. 7: 6; Gal. 3: 8). Still, he often uses human beings to accomplish what he wants (Matt. 24:14; 28:19, 20; 2 Cor. 1: 3, 4).

He can give any of us the wisdom and strength to become whatever it takes to carry out his will. All of this is part of the meaning of Jehovah's name, as some experts believe. We all want to be useful to Jehovah, but some may not be sure that he is using them. Why? Because it seems to them that their age, circumstances or abilities limit them. Others may be content with what they are already doing and see no need for progress. w19.10 20 pars. 1, 2

As promised in Philippians 2:13, what can Jehovah give us?

(Read Philippians 2:13.) * Jehovah can give us the desire to act. How? We may learn that there is a need in our congregation or the elders read a letter from the branch office about a need elsewhere. Perhaps then we wonder what we can do to help. Or maybe we've been offered a tough assignment and wondering if we'd be up to the task. It may also happen that, after reading a portion of the Bible, we think about how to use it to help others. Jehovah will not force us to do anything. But if he sees that we are willing to do more, he will give us the desire to act.

How can Jehovah give us the strength to act?

Jehovah can also give us the strength to act (Isa. 40:29). With his holy spirit, he can enhance our natural abilities (Ex. 35: 30-35). And by organizing it, you can teach us to do some tasks. If we don't know how to fulfill a certain assignment, let's ask for help.

Let us also freely reach out to our generous heavenly Father and ask him for “the power that is beyond normal” (2 Cor. 4: 7; Luke 11:13). In the Bible, we read how Jehovah empowered many men and women by giving them the desire and strength to act. Let's run through some examples and think about how you could use us in a similar way.
