Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2021
Monday, June 14, 2021
How will the one who is alone and falls fare when there is no other to pick him up? (Eccl. 4:10).
What those who have gone to a new assignment need most is that we understand it, not feel sorry for it. He or someone in his family may have a health problem. Or maybe you are grieving over the death of a loved one. And even if he doesn't say it, he may be sad because he misses his friends. Processing such deep and often conflicting feelings takes time.
During that time, our support and example can help you adjust to the new circumstances. A sister who served for many years in another country says: “On my previous assignment, I taught the Bible every day. But in the new one it was difficult for me to even read a text from the Bible or show a video in the preaching. However, the brothers and sisters of my new congregation invited me to accompany them to their return visits and Bible courses. This helped me to be more positive. I learned to start conversations in the new territory. Thanks to all that, I felt happy again ”. w19.08 22 par. 10; 24 paras. 13, 14.
How do we stay close to Jehovah?
Stay close to Jehovah (James 4: 8). How do we do it? Trusting him, for he is the "Hearer of prayer" (Ps. 65: 2). "Pour out your heart before him," says Psalm 62: 8. Jehovah can do infinitely more than anything we ask or imagine (Eph. 3:20). He does not limit himself to doing only what we ask of him in prayer. To solve our problems, he can do unexpected things, things that never crossed our minds.
(a) What will help us stay close to Jehovah? b) According to Hebrews 6: 10-12, what will be the result of our continuing to serve Jehovah faithfully?
It will also help us to stay close to Jehovah by reading the Bible every day and meditating on it. A former missionary says, "We need to continue to celebrate family worship and prepare for meetings on a regular basis, just like when we were on our previous assignment." Also, let's continue to be fully involved in preaching with the new congregation. Jehovah does not forget those who serve him faithfully, even if they cannot do as much as before. --Read Hebrews 6: 10-12.
