Let us examine the Scriptures every day 2026

In this matter they have shown themselves to be pure in every way (2 Cor. 7:11).
You may feel bad if something you did in the past hurt others. What can you do? Apologize sincerely and do your best to make amends. Ask Jehovah to help those affected by your actions. He can help both you and them to move forward and regain peace. Learn from your mistakes and let Jehovah use you in whatever way he sees fit. Remember the prophet Jonah. Instead of going to Nineveh, as God had commanded, Jonah ran away in the opposite direction. Jehovah corrected him, and the prophet learned his lesson. (Jonah 1:1-4, 15-17; 2:7-10) Jehovah did not stop using Jonah. He gave him another opportunity to go to Nineveh, and this time Jonah obeyed without hesitation. Although he regretted what he had done, he did not let that stop him from accepting this new assignment from Jehovah. (Jonah 3:1-3) w24.10 8, 9 pars. 10, 11
How does Jehovah give us peace when we suffer misfortune or go through a traumatic situation? (Philippians 4:6, 7)
When we suffer misfortune or go through a traumatic situation, Jehovah uses his holy spirit to comfort us. That is what Ron and Carol experienced when their adult son tragically committed suicide. They relate: “It wasn’t the first time we had faced a difficult situation, but this was certainly the worst. Since we couldn’t sleep many nights, we prayed to Jehovah and felt the peace spoken of at Philippians 4:6, 7” (read it). If you are going through a very difficult trial and feel heartbroken, tell Jehovah everything you feel. You can talk to him as often and for as long as you want (Psalm 86:3; 88:1). Don’t tire of asking him for his holy spirit. You can be sure that he will hear your prayers (Luke 11:9-13).
How can the holy spirit help us to continue serving Jehovah faithfully? (Ephesians 3:16)
Have you gone through a very difficult trial and now feel you have no strength left? Holy spirit can give you the strength you need to continue serving Jehovah faithfully (read Ephesians 3:16). Consider the experience of a sister named Flora. She and her husband were missionaries, but he was unfaithful, and they divorced. Flora explains: “His betrayal caused me anguish that consumed me day and night. So I prayed to Jehovah for his holy spirit to help me cope. Jehovah healed my wound and helped me overcome the situation, even though at first I thought I wouldn’t be able to.” She feels that God has helped her to trust in him even more and is convinced that he will support her no matter what. She adds: “Jehovah did for me what Psalm 119:32 says: ‘I will diligently follow the path of your commandments, for you make room for it in my heart.’”
What can we do to receive the Spirit of God?
After asking Jehovah for holy spirit, what do you need to do? Participate in activities that allow you to receive that spirit, such as attending meetings and doing the preaching work. Read the Bible every day, and you will fill your mind with Jehovah’s thoughts (Phil. 4:8, 9). As you read, take note of the characters who faced difficulties and meditate on how Jehovah helped them to endure. Sandra, mentioned in paragraph 6, went through many serious problems. She says: “The account of Joseph always touches me. He did not let the trials and injustices he suffered weaken his friendship with Jehovah” (Gen. 39:21-23).
