Put on the new personality (Eph. 4:24).

In Isaiah chapter 65, Jehovah described what life would be like in the spiritual paradise. Those inspired words had their first fulfillment in 537 B.C.E. At that time, the repentant Jews were freed from Babylon and returned to their land. With Jehovah’s blessing and help, they rebuilt Jerusalem, which had been in ruins, and made it a beautiful city once more. They also restored the temple so that it would again become the center of pure worship in Israel. (Isaiah 51:11; Zechariah 8:3) The second fulfillment of Isaiah’s words is taking place in modern times. It began in 1919, when Jehovah’s servants were freed from Babylon the Great. Since then, the spiritual paradise has been expanding earth wide. Filled with zeal, Kingdom proclaimers formed large numbers of congregations. Many men and women who had been violent and immoral have made spiritual progress and have put on “the new personality that was created according to God’s will.” w24.04 20, 21 pars. 3, 4

According to Isaiah 65:13, what blessing do we enjoy in the spiritual paradise?

We feel healthy and refreshed. In a striking way, Isaiah shows how different life is inside and outside the spiritual paradise (read Isaiah 65:13). For Jehovah’s servants, he meets all their spiritual needs. We have his holy spirit, his Word, and plenty of spiritual food to eat, drink, and rejoice (compare Revelation 22:17). The opposite is true for those who live outside the spiritual paradise. They experience “hunger,” “thirst,” and “shame.” Their spiritual needs are not met (Amos 8:11).

What foods are mentioned in Joel 2:21-24, what do they represent, and how do they benefit us?

In one of his prophecies, Joel mentioned that Jehovah would generously provide his people with foods considered essential, such as grain, wine, and olive oil (Joel 2:21-24). What he really meant was that Jehovah would meet all of his people’s needs, including their spiritual nourishment. How does he do this today? By giving us the Bible, our publications, our website, meetings, and assemblies. In this way, we can nourish ourselves daily and grow healthier and more refreshed.

Why does our heart feel so good? (Isaiah 65:14).

We feel happy and content. Christians feel heartfelt gratitude to God, and that is why they shout for joy (read Isaiah 65:14). Why does their “heart feel” so good? Because they find truths and promises in God’s Word that greatly encourage them. In addition, they have a solid hope, based on Jesus’ sacrifice. How happy they feel when they talk about all these things with their brothers! (Psalm 34:8; 133:1-3).
