APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: September 4-10-2023, Speech, Lesson 14, Assignment Prepared.

Talk (5 min.): w20.11 12-14 pars. 3-7. Title: Jesus and the angels help us (th lec. 14).

Have you ever felt lonely and discouraged, with no one to help you face a test? Most likely, yes, but don't feel bad. That does not mean that he has lost faith, many first century Christians felt this way, one of them was the Apostle Paul, he felt discouraged at one point in his life, when a crowd dragged him out of the temple and tried to kill him.

The next day, when they took him to the Sanhedrin, his enemies were about to tear him to pieces, as the text of Acts 23:6 to 10 shows, which I invite you to read, the text says:...

LET'S READ ACTS 23:6-10.

Well, since Paul knew that some were Sadducees and others Pharisees, he shouted in the Sanhedrin: “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of Pharisees. Today I am being judged for my hope in the resurrection of the dead.” 7 Because of what he said, the Pharisees and the Sadducees began to argue, and the assembly was divided, 8 for the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection or angel or spirit, while the Pharisees believe in* all this.b 9 So which broke out a great uproar. Then some scribes from the party of the Pharisees got up and began to protest violently. They said, “We found nothing wrong with this man. What if a spirit or an angel spoke to him? 10 Seeing the discussion escalate, the military commander was afraid that Paul would be torn to pieces.

Possibly Paul will ask himself: "How much longer can I bear this mistreatment?" Clearly he needed help. And he will have obtained it? Let us please look at the Biblical record of Acts. But this time verse 11 of chapter 23, if he found it, please accompany me with the reading, it says like this….

LET'S READ ACTS 23:11.

But that same night the Lord appeared at Paul's side and said: “Have courage!a For just as you have borne a full witness* of me in Jerusalem, you will also have to bear witness in Rome.”

Those words of encouragement were just what Pablo needed. Jesus congratulated Paul on the testimony he had given in Jerusalem and promised him that he would arrive safely in Rome, where he too would bear witness. After receiving that promise, he must have felt as protected as a baby nestled in a parent's arms. However, he had to face other situations as mentioned in Acts 27:20-25 that we are going to read, the text says the following.

LET'S READ ACTS 27:20-25.

When we had not seen the sun or the stars for many days and were being hit by a violent storm, all hope of saving ourselves began to disappear. 21 Those on board had already gone a long time without eating. Then Paul stood up in their midst and said, “Sirs, you should have listened to my advice and not left Crete. Thus we would have saved ourselves these damages and losses.a 22 But now I ask you to have courage, because none of you will lose your life. Only the ship will be lost. 23 Last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and to whom I render sacred service appeared by my side 24 and he said to me: 'Don't be afraid, Paul. You have to appear before Caesar; besides, God has granted you the lives of all those who sail with you.' 25 So take courage, gentlemen,

As we can see, through an angel, Jehovah repeated to him the promise that he had made before through Jesus. And so it was: Paul arrived in Rome. Just like Paul, we also have the support of Jesus, and why do we say that? Good text from Matthew 28:20 that we are going to read, since there it clearly explains about the protection that all of Jehovah's servants have. The text says the following:

LET'S READ MATTHEW 28:20.

Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And, remember, I will be with you every day until the conclusion* of the system.”

These words strengthen us greatly, because we all go through times that are uphill for us. For example, when a loved one dies, the pain we feel may last for years, not just a few days.

Others have to face the ailments of old age on a daily basis. And there are those who have very bad days due to depression. Despite everything, we have the strength to carry on because we know that Jesus is with us every day, even the darkest days of our lives.

And the Bible assures us that Jehovah uses Los Angeles to help us, since they support us and guide us when we preach the Good News of the Kingdom to people from "Every nation, tribe, tongue and people" As Revelation 14 6 mentions.

So, keeping this in mind when we feel that our forces fail us, or we are going through trials or difficulties, let us remember that dear brothers and sisters that we are not alone, but that we are at the command, guidance and protection of Jehovah.
