Treasures From God's Word, 6-12-March-2023, "The worship in the temple was well organized", Prepared Speech.

“Temple worship was well organized” (10 min.).

If we read the first letter to the Corinthians, chapter 14 verse 33 says: For God is not a God of disorder, but of Peace. As it happens in all the congregations of the saints. This text clearly indicates that Jehovah is a God who likes order and that is that in everything that Jehovah has created this order can be seen, in things as tiny as in the immense ones, such as the universe. Reading a little about the universe, they say that it is made up of galaxies, solar systems, stars, planets, asteroids, among other celestial bodies, everything is immense in size but everything is in its place.

And Jehovah has done the same at a smaller level as to his people here on earth that is why we are going to in this section of treasures of the Bible with Title the worship in the temple was well organized And it is that the servants of Jehovah imitate the God Almighty also organizing things in the best way so that everything works perfectly.

As an example we will take what King David did, in his time so that the worship of Jehovah would work with the help of all with the collaboration of all. Let's see for example how he organized the Levites and the priests for his service in the temple if we see in 1 Chronicles chapter 23 verse 6 says:

WE ARE GOING TO READ 1 CHRONICLES 23:6 VERSES 27,28 AND 1 CHRONICLES 24:3

1 CHRONICLES 23:6: And David divided them into courses according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

1 CHRONICLES 23:27,28: According to David's instructions, the Levites from 20 years old and up were numbered. 28 His function was to help the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of Jehovah, taking charge of the patios, the dining rooms, and the purification of all holy things, as well as the tasks necessary for the service of the house of the true God. .

1 CHRONICLES 24:3: David—along with Zadok, of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech, of the sons of Ithamar—organized them into divisions to perform their service.

Apparently this looks very easy, but it was not. First they had to recognize that those who were going to serve in this work as Levites and priests were direct descendants of the sons of Levi, Gershon, Kohat and Merari, so their background had to be studied and if they met that requirement. And after that they had to be divided into 24 groups so that they would work inside the Temple once every six months. That is, twice a year.

And sometimes they had to support the festivities where there were more sacrifices and therefore their work was doubled. Well, these priests and Levites had to do directly with teaching the people, with the strongest work.

If we see in our photograph of our Activity Guide, who could we compare within the congregation that perform this similar function? If we focus, there are two brothers who are transmitting some special information to a sister, perhaps a pioneer where some additional privilege is being given or something that the sister has received as a privilege is being communicated to her. The function of the Elders and Ministerial Servants is to collaborate in the teaching of Jehovah, that is why we see them on the platform, making encouragement visits or perhaps in some other way fulfilling certain special responsibilities, they also have their moment of work, but sometimes it is doubled and that is where they need our support.

But David also organized another work that did not have so much to do with teaching. Now we see in 1 Chronicles 25:1 it says this:.

WE ARE GOING TO READ 1 CHRONICLES 25:1 AND VERSE 8.

25 Also, David and the leaders of the groups for the service separated some of the sons of Asaph, Heman and Jedutun to serve prophesying with the harps, with the stringed instruments and with the cymbals. This is the list of men appointed to this service:

8 So they cast lots to find out what duties each one would have, regardless of whether he was small or great, expert or apprentice.

We may recognize that David was a gifted musician. He composed many of the Psalms that we have today in the Scriptures. So he paid a lot of attention. He gave a lot of emphasis to singing, to music in the worship of Jehovah. So much so that 4,000 Levites were set apart to provide musical service.

Again attention was paid to the spiritual background. They were of the Levites. The one who sang the best from anywhere was not chosen. It had to be from that line, that is, meet a special requirement. And of course, each one of them had someone supervising them, who was also someone, as the Bible calls him, an expert, an expert in music. So people who did this job very well were chosen.

Going back to the photograph in our activity guide, who could we liken to these brothers in the congregation? that some are also experts and others are apprentices, but they do their jobs. Well, we can see brothers who are taking care of responsibilities, such as organizing the cleaning of the Kingdom Hall of the preaching group, or taking care of the literature department. What would happen if one of them did not do their job? Some are experts, others are apprentices, but each one has their role to perform, they also support God's organization.

But there was another group that was in charge of other functions that did not have to do with teaching or music, which was an important part of worship, but with other tasks, perhaps a bit mechanical, but just as important. If we now look at 1 Chronicles 26:16-20.

WE ARE GOING TO READ 1 CHRONICLES 26:16-20.

16 Supim and Hosah fell to the west, near the Saleket Gate, along the main road that goes up; a group of guards was positioned next to another group of guards. 17 There were six Levites to the east. In the north there were four a day and in the south there were four a day. And in the storerooms there were two and two. 18 In the west gate there were four along the main roadc and two along the gate. 19 These were the divisions of the gatekeepers of the sons of the Korahites and of the Merarites. 20 As for the Levites, Ahijah was in charge of the treasury chambers of the house of the true God and the treasury chambers of sanctified things.

Here we are talking about the porters, those in charge of opening the doors, which in total were also 4,000. Their function will be to watch over the house of Jehovah, that everything goes in order and to make sure that the doors open and close on time. And there were others who took care of the contributions they brought to the temple. But again his spiritual antecedents were reviewed.

In verse 17 it said that there were six Levites. And in verse 19 it speaks of the children of the crowns and medals. That is, he never strayed from the spiritual requirements to name the people who were needed.

In our days in the congregation, who might be the ones that are represented by these groups? it could be the brother who is helping with the platform, what would happen from a meeting without due or transmission for our brothers who are in their homes and cannot physically attend the meeting, or from the brother who is in charge of cleaning, every one has a function to perform, and we can also include the brother who records the contributions that go into the boxes at each of the Kingdom Halls.

It really is beautiful to be in a very organized congregation, in a congregation that imitates our Almighty God, who also likes order. That is why when each one fulfills their work, we can be comfortable in the meeting, attending very well because everyone fulfills their role.

Let us truly appreciate the work of each one of the brothers in the congregation. But above all things, let us thank Jehovah who has given us the proper example of how they should function in proper order. For being an organization that has the purpose of giving due honor to Jehovah.
