APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: Week of March 6-12, 2023, Video Responses to the Memorial Invitation.

APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: March 6-12-2023, Answers to the Video of the invitation to the Commemoration.

Video of the invitation to the Memorial (5 min.): Discussion with the audience. Play the Memorial Campaign video. Stop the video at the pause and ask the question that appears in it.

What will help you decide whether or not to continue the conversation?

An indicator is the interest that the person shows, and we will notice it if they ask us questions and by their way of answering us, we will also notice it by observing their attitude and body language. Hence, it is so important that we know how to listen carefully and be observant.

We must also be discerning and note the difference between a voluntary and sincere response from the householder and one out of courtesy or obligation, or perhaps out of annoyance, since it is very important to be discerning because we want the person to feel motivated to go to the commemoration, and do not accept the invitation out of obligation or courtesy, if so, it is most likely that you will not attend the commemoration.

It is true that we must strive to make a good presentation of the invitation to the commemoration. But equally, we must respect the right of the householder to decide whether or not to accept the invitation, and whether or not to continue the conversation. Therefore, we must be observant and notice if they are interested. We will see this if he asks us questions and willingly answers ours and with his way of reacting in general to the conversation.

In the case of the model presentation we see that the householder does not look very lively nor does he show great interest, but he did not show a bad attitude either. He also asked if the event was free. With these details, the brother considered that it was enough to continue the conversation and he even showed him the video and left him a pending question for the return visit.

Something that will also help us decide whether to continue the conversation is to observe from the beginning how the householder reacts. If he reacts well or if on the contrary, he shows an antagonistic attitude. Or if he begins to object to us, such as: The most common is that he can tell us that Jesus lives in our hearts or that he already has his religion or perhaps that he is leaving at this moment and cannot attend to us. Here in these situations, we must be discerning and differentiate whether it is just simple objections or if they are clear signs of disinterest.
