1Ch 21:15. What does this verse teach us about Jehovah? (w05 10/1 11 par. 6)
The verse teaches us the great mercy that Jehovah has for his people, he took pity on the suffering of the people, since his people were going to be destroyed by the disobedience of a single man. However, Jehovah was moved and had this great mercy. This leaves us a valuable lesson, the great mercy that Jehovah has is incomparable. However, we can imitate him by being compassionate to our brothers, without focusing on his mistakes, but on his suffering. If we do it, not only will we be happy, we will also make our brothers and especially Jehovah happy.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
From this verse we also learn that although David was anointed, Jehovah did not free him from suffering the consequences of his sin with Bath-sheba and this affected those around him. This should lead us to meditate that no one should think that he can abuse Jehovah's mercy or that he will escape unscathed from his faults just because he is someone of responsibility in the congregation or for taking the lead among the people of God.
He teaches us that he is a merciful God and that he shows compassion, because when he sees the suffering of his people, he stops the calamity that he had sent them.
This makes us think that we serve even God who knows how to forgive, due to how merciful he is, which is why to this day he continues to allow many people to continue to know him and go to his people, we also have the assurance that, if we commit a mistake and we sincerely repent, he will show us mercy.
It is incredible how the world is today, people after the confinement live their lives rejecting God more than ever, but in the confinement many sought God out of fear, the context shows that King David was afraid to go out, because he could see the Angel and his sword. In the future many angels commanded by the lamb are going to execute sentence on this system and many people worldwide are going to be afraid. Today Jehovah is giving humanity time, the opportunity for everyone to repent, leave the bad path and return to God, who will have mercy. However, God's mercy has a limit and we must not abuse that mercy.
This verse teaches us the great mercy of Jehovah towards his people and his immense compassion. As everyone was suffering because of David's disobedience and stubbornness, Jehovah took pity on the people and sent My angel to stop the plague.
This verse also teaches us that we should imitate Jehovah in his compassionate mercy. And we must demonstrate them not only with our brothers, but with those around us, since we all make mistakes and we are all exposed to the temptations and traps of satan.
What spiritual pearls have you found about Jehovah, the ministry, and other topics in this week's Bible reading?
1 Chronicles 21:17. This verse shows that David acknowledges his sin before Jehovah and specifically communicates with his God regarding the situation he is going through. This teaches me that our prayers must be specific and sincere when expressing to Jehovah what we feel or asking for what we are needing. In this way, we will be able to see how Jehovah gives us the help we expect.
1 Chronicles in chapter 20. We see how Jehovah gave David many victories, which made him a very powerful ruler, from this we learn that, as long as we are walking on the right path, Jehovah will bless us.
1 Chronicles 21: 23. It shows us that when David is going to ask Ornan to sell him his land, he simply wants to give it to him, because he knew it was for Jehovah, which teaches us an important lesson and that is that we must be generous when try to give some donation for the advancement of the work of the Kingdom.
In 1 Chronicles 21: 1. We see how Satan is always on the lookout for God's servants to lead us to commit some sin, so we learn that we must always stay alert in a spiritual sense, and strengthen our faith every day in order to avoid the best that we can the traps of the devil.
1 Chronicles 21: 3. It teaches us that we should always listen to the advice of our good friends or mature brothers in the congregation, in this way we will avoid many problems.
In 1 Chronicles 21: 8. We see that, despite all his faults and serious sins, David always showed the proper heart condition, repenting and begging Jehovah's forgiveness, which teaches us that if at any time we commit a serious sin , we must take steps to show Jehovah that we repent from the heart, only then will we obtain his forgiveness.
1 Chronicles 21:1-5. It makes us see that David was probably planning a military effort without God's advice and help, that's why he wanted the census, so he was about to trust numbers, when we know full well that's not the key to success, which is It makes me see that I should not be afraid because even if an entire army threatens us, we should not fear because Jehovah is on our side and that is the key to being victorious.
1 Chronicles 21: 1,2. Once again, it shows us David's mistake, but meditating on the example of this servant of God from the past makes us see that despite our imperfection, we can preserve Jehovah's favor, and well, if we want to achieve this, let's study his Word, let us reflect on what we have learned and act decisively according to what we have kept in our hearts.
In 1 Chronicles 21: 17. We see that David did not make excuses or blame others for his mistakes, because he knew well that he had caused all of this, very different was Adam who blamed Eve for his sin, which teaches us that when we commit a mistake let us be honest and do not blame others or perhaps circumstances, since doing this is an indication of some form of selfishness, moral weakness and even pride.
1 Chronicles 22: 13 teaches us that if we always follow the rules and principles of Jehovah, we will do very well in every decision we make in our lives.
1 Chronicles 22:5. It shows us that David might have thought that Solomon was not qualified to direct such an important work, but he knew that Jehovah would enable Solomon to carry out the project he had been given, so he focused on how he could help and prepared a large amount of of materials, this undoubtedly teaches the elderly to be willing to prepare for the youngest is responsibility.
1 Chronicles 22:-6-10. In the case of David, he did not become jealous or envious when he found out that his son would build the temple for Jehovah, but rather he supported him, from which we learn that if someone receives a privilege in the congregation, a privilege that perhaps we wanted to have, we should not feel envy, but rather do everything in our power to support him.
1 Chronicles 22:16. He shows David telling his son Solomon: “The amount of gold, silver, copper, and iron is incalculable. Get to work, and may Jehovah be with you." If we apply these words to our ministry, we will also see that we have things of incalculable value such as Biblical truth and all the tools that Jehovah gives us for preaching and teaching. Consequently, it only remains for us to get down to work like Solomon.
1 Chronicles 22:5. It shows David's generous spirit. He knew that his son Solomon was young and inexperienced, so he wanted to prepare for him the preparations to build the house of Jehovah, since it should be great. This teaches me that although there are things that we can no longer do ourselves due to illness or old age, we can collaborate with our younger brothers so that they can carry out what we cannot do in the work of the Kingdom.
1 Chronicles 21:1 to 7. Shows that although a census seems a prudent act. On this occasion, it was an incitement from Satan to David. This displeased Jehovah and caused him to strike the people of Israel with a plague. The lesson is that while there may be things that may not necessarily appear bad, they may be displeasing to Jehovah and provoke his anger. For this, we must be careful in order not to suffer the consequences or harm those around us.
1 Chronicles 20:4-7. Shows that Israel had three victories over the Philistine giants without David, as this occurred at the hands of Zibecai, Elhanan, and Jonathan. This proves that it is Jehovah who always gives Victory to his people and not the men he has designated to be the heads, his leaders or those who take the lead.
1 Chronicles 20: 4 to 7. It shows that Israel achieved three victories over Philistine giants at the hands of Zibecai, Elhanan and Jonathan. This teaches us the importance of preparing the youngest in the congregation to continue serving to the fullest when we can no longer do as much in the work of the Kingdom, either due to health issues or old age. In this case, King David trained others through his example. Let us remember that these giants were descendants of the giants of Gath, which had fallen by the hands of David and his servants long ago.
1 Chronicles 21:1 to 2. It speaks of David being incited by Satan to take a census of Israel. This leads us to remember the principle of Exodus 30:12 that shows God's ownership of his people. Therefore, it belonged only to him to order a count or a census and not to David on his own initiative. This teaches us the importance of knowing the Biblical principles well and not taking attributions that do not correspond to us in order to avoid Jehovah's wrath and bad consequences for us.
1 Chronicles 21: 3 to 4. 4. It shows that Joab objected to David's order to take a census of Israel when he said to him: “Why does my Lord want to do this? Why make Israel guilty? This teaches us, on the one hand, that those who lead the people of God can also make mistakes. And on the other hand, it teaches us that it is okay to make suggestions to those who are in the lead, make observations, and even raise objections, whenever we see that their orders contravene a principle or a mandate from Jehovah.
1 Chronicles 21:3 to 8.1. When we analyze the reference verse 2 of Samuel 24:4 we see that in addition to Joab, the captains of the army also warned David not to take the census, but David did it anyway and: then came the terrible consequences. This teaches us that those who bear the weight of responsibility in the congregation should not do anything before making sure that it is in accordance with Jehovah's will in order not to harm themselves or the rest of the 6 brothers.
1 Chronicles 21. This chapter of Chronicles teaches us that numbers are not a firm foundation on which to build faith, so these large numbers tend to create a sense of security that is not real. It was very clear to David, but at what price? We also learn that a single one from Jehovah is a more formidable force than a great army that is not with him. So we must never allow the big numbers 7” to cloud our good judgment.
1 Chronicles 21:1-8. Shows that even David, an anointed of Jehovah, yielded to Satan's temptation by ordering a census of Israel. This teaches us that no one is exempt from falling into Satan's traps. So we must be alert and not neglect our personal preparation in order to keep our perspective faculties and our reasoning capacity well trained.
1 Chronicles 22:5. He shows that David might have thought that Solomon was not qualified to direct such an important work as the temple in Jerusalem. However, he knew that Jehovah would enable him to carry out the project that he had entrusted to him. Because of this, he rather concentrated on thinking about how he could help him and with this he left us all a lesson in humility.
1 Chronicles 22:8. He shows that although David desired with all his heart to build a house for Jehovah and Jehovah was pleased with this proposition. However, it would be Solomon and not David who carried it out, because David had shed much blood in wars. And although these wars had been fought in behalf of the name of Jehovah and his people, the temple must be built in peace and by a man of peace. This teaches us that in God's purpose each one plays a necessary role for the fulfillment of the divine purpose. So no matter what it is, we must be satisfied with our work.
1 Chronicles 20:5,6. The residents of Gat were known for having giant warriors, violent men who used their height to intimidate others. Despite this, Jehovah used “the mighty Israelites”—Elhanan and Jonathan—to defeat them. This teaches me: that at present, sometimes the servants of God, have problems or challenges that are like giants, but compared to the power of Jehovah, these are tiny. Therefore, as these brave Israelites did, let us decide to serve Jehovah and trust him, in this way, there will be no challenge or difficulty that we cannot overcome with Jehovah's infinite power.
1 Chronicles 21:1. He says that it was Satan who prompted David to take a census. In any case, Joab, the commander of the army, knew that David's decision was wrong and tried to dissuade him from changing his mind. This teaches me: that all Christians have an obligation to help each other, especially if we see that a brother is about to "take a false step." In imitation of Joab, we must talk to him, dissuade him from changing the way he acts, thinks or feels. Also, let's keep in mind that when giving advice it must be with a valid and genuine biblical reason, so we can help you.
1 Chronicles 22:17-19. David used a rhetorical question with the princes of Israel. His objective was to make them reason, so that they decided to seek Jehovah and build the temple. This teaches me: that, in imitation of David, Christians want to "awaken the reasoning faculties" of our students, therefore, we must ask rhetorical questions that encourage them to reason or reflect and thus decide to seek Jehovah. Certainly teaching is an art, but if we learn to ask accurate and thoughtful questions, we will be rewarded by seeing our students make the right choice to serve Jehovah.
1 Chronicles 20:4,5. These texts show us that the wars in David's life were a constant, just like David we fight spiritual battles every day, therefore, we need to wear the spiritual armor and keep it complete always, but the main thing is to have help of Jehovah, since only then can we win in this continuous war.
1 Chronicles 20:7. We remember that David knocked down the giant Goliath, but some time later there were other giants who were equally defeated with the help of Jehovah, today we also face giant problems, thanks to these stories we know and have the confidence that with the help of Jehovah we can always win regardless of the size of the problem.
1 Chronicles 21:3,4. Arrogance and pride can blind our judgment and make us make bad decisions that will affect us and our family, that is why the Bible encourages us to be humble and listen to the advice of mature people, Jehovah gives us warnings through his word the Bible and He helps us through his congregation.
1 Chronicles 22:5,9. Although he was not allowed to build Jehovah's temple, David demonstrated a generous spirit by accumulating materials for its construction, he did so because he recognized that everything he had was due to Jehovah's blessing. We too must have this feeling that everything we have is thanks to his generous kindness.
1 Chronicles 20:4 to 5. It shows us that wars happened one after another without giving much time for rest. This bears a similarity to our days in the spiritual sense. Therefore, we must always be alert and well repaired so that Satan does not take advantage of us.
1 Chronicles 20: 1 to 8. These verses speak of the giants that were struck down in these battles. Today, God's servants also often face challenges as big as they are gigantic. But just as in ancient times Jehovah gave victory to his people, in the same way, to his servants today he will also give us victory as long as we act according to his will.
1 Chronicles 20:4,5. He mentions that a war broke out, then another war, and so on, this shows us that the wars in David's life were a constant, in our case we are in a spiritual war in which there is no truce or rest, therefore, we need the spiritual armor and learn to use it correctly, and with the help of Jehovah and our fellow soldiers we will be able to carry on in this war.
1 Chronicles 20:6. The numbers in the Bible have a meaning, in this text the number 6 stands out, we know that six represents a totality or complete thing only in the sight of man and is deficient in relation to the totality or perfection that God designates with the number seven.
1 Chronicles 20:7. David knocked down the giant Goliath, but some time later there were other giants and David's brother knocked down one of them, this reminds us that our giants with whom we have fought are there, and they are not just for us, they are for everyone who is around us, our family, children, etc. But with Jehovah's help we can overcome and win.
1 Chronicles 21:1. On David's part, there may have been bad motives due to pride and confidence he had in the magnitude of his army, instead of manifesting complete confidence in Jehovah. In any case, it becomes clear that David's main motive on this occasion was not to glorify God. We could also sin with pride, perhaps we boast because we have been in the congregation for many years, we have had many service privileges, or perhaps we have a lot materially, without a doubt, the ego is our enemy.
1 Chronicles 21:3-4. Arrogance and pride can blind our judgment and make us make bad decisions that will affect us and our family, that is why the Bible encourages us to be humble and listen to the advice of mature people, but if we isolate ourselves and believe that we know everything we could get in trouble. Jehovah gives us warnings through the Bible and mature brothers who want to see us well.
1 Chronicles 21:21-25. It teaches us that we should not take advantage of the good faith of our brothers in spiritual matters, although the land was to offer sacrifices to God, David was willing and even insisted on paying it, he literally said: "I have to pay you the full value for it. I am not going to keep what is yours to give it to Jehovah nor am I going to offer burnt sacrifices that have cost me nothing”, without a doubt, it is a good example that is worth imitating.
1 Chronicles 22:5, 9. Despite not being allowed to build Jehovah's temple, David demonstrated a generous spirit. He did so because he recognized that everything he had acquired was due to the goodness of Jehovah. The same feeling of gratitude should prompt us to be generous.
1 Chronicles 22:5,9. It could be that we do not have the privilege that we wanted to have or that we even receive some discipline, and this will bring out what is in our hearts, since there is revealed the kind of people we are, there are those who could get upset and never help again. the congregation or give voluntary contributions.
